Former MAR CEO Hilley Dies
Edgar C “Ed” Hilley, who died September 22, was the Executive Vice President for the Maryland Association of REALTORS® from 1967 to 1993.
He served as local board President for the Prince George’s County Association of REALTORS® prior to becoming the State’s Association Executive. With his extensive knowledge of and passion for the legislative and political process, he dedicated himself to making Maryland a friendly place for real estate professionals and their clients. Former CEO Mary Antoun said, “Ed was a driving force in our lobbying efforts in Annapolis and helped to transform the Association during his years of dedicated service.”
He presided over the growth of the Association from 3,500 members to a peak of over 29,000. During his twenty-six years with the Association he worked tirelessly and effectively advocated the interests of all Maryland REALTORS®.
“We are saddened to learn of Ed’s passing”, said current CEO Chuck Kasky. “He played a central role in the growth of the Association and its position as the foremost representative of private property rights in Maryland during his time at the helm of the Association.
