Applications are open for the 2027 Leadership Academy!

The Academy is designed to cultivate and empower future leaders within Maryland’s real estate community by providing comprehensive training, networking opportunities, and personal development. Participants benefit from exposure to best practices in organizational leadership, communications, and strategic planning, all tailored to support your growth within the industry.

You are applying for an important and highly coveted experience. We receive many applications and the Academy class is limited to only twenty students. As such, it is crucial that you complete every section of the application thoroughly and accurately and prepare for a professional, engaging, and comprehensive candidate interview.

Because this is an association leadership training program, active involvement and experience in your local board/association or at the state level are required for participation. If you have questions or need guidance, we encourage you to contact your local board Association Executive (AE) for assistance. Their expertise and insight can help you navigate the requirements and ensure your application reflects your potential.

Maryland REALTORS® Leadership Academy is currently accepting applications for the 2027-2028 Leadership Academy Program.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Applicants must be licensed real estate salesperson, associate broker, broker, or affiliate member in good standing with Maryland REALTORS® and local board/association.
  • Active involvement and experience in your local board/association or at the state level are required for participation.
  • The application must be completed- no incomplete applications will be accepted.
  • Applicants must be available to complete all session dates listed on the application.
  • The cost of the Academy is $750 which will be invoiced after the applicant has been invited to participate and must be paid in full prior to the first class.
  • Each eligible applicant will be interviewed by a panel of the Leadership Academy Advisory Group via the Zoom.
  • Candidates will be notified within a week of the interview process.

Criteria to apply:

  • Licensed real estate salesperson, associate broker, broker, or affiliate member prior to applying. 
  • Primary Maryland REALTORS® and local board/association member in good standing. 
  • Active involvement and experience in your local board/association or at the state level are required for participation.
  • Participation in all sessions is mandatory. Applicants for the 2027 class must commit to the following dates:

October 8, 2026: Orientation and Organizational Leadership
November 12, 2026: Effective Communications/Media Relations                          
December 10, 2026: Professional Conduct & Association Governance
January 14, 2027: Organizational Long-Range Planning
February 17, 2027: The Role of the Association in Legislation/Government Affairs
March 11, 2027: Diversity in Business
April 8, 2027: Finale: The Leadership Journey
April 22, 2027: Leadership Academy Graduation and Recognition Lunch           

In addition to the classes listed above, Leadership Academy participants must complete and show proof of completion to Leadership Academy staff of the following courses prior to graduation:
