Melanie Gamble, ABR, C2EX, CRB, CRS, PSA, SFR, SRS, AHWD, RENE, is a highly accomplished author, speaker, and industry advocate, with more than 23 years of experience assisting financially stressed homeowners across a variety of markets. As a nationally recognized thought leader, she has made significant contributions to understanding the social and financial impact of short sales and foreclosures. Melanie’s expertise has earned her numerous accolades and appointments, including being named in 2023 by the Governor to the State Commission of Real Estate Appraisers, Appraisal Management Companies, and Home Inspectors, as well as the Governor’s Task Force on Property Appraisal and Valuation Equity.
In addition to these appointments, Melanie is a proud graduate of the National Association of Realtors Leadership Academy and the Maryland Realtors Leadership Academy. She served as the 2022 President of the Prince George’s County Association of REALTORS® and currently holds the esteemed position of Secretary of Maryland Realtors. Melanie also serves as an RPAC Trustee, continuing her commitment to advocacy and leadership in the real estate community.
Educationally, Melanie holds both a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Florida A&M University. While pursuing her graduate studies, she broke barriers as the first woman and youngest Executive Director of the Florida Conference of Black State Legislators. Her work during the 1994 legislative session was instrumental in passing the Rosewood bill, securing over three million dollars in reparations for the descendants of Rosewood, FL.
Melanie’s qualifications and achievements are extensive. She is a Leadership Consultant and Professional Development Trainer at Dynamic Directions, a 2023 Executive Committee member as the President-elect’s appointee for Maryland Realtors, and has served as both an At-Large Director and Chair of the Grievance Committee for Maryland Realtors in 2022. Her leadership extended to her role as the 2021 District Vice President for District 3, Maryland Realtors, and she was named a 2020 RISMedia Real Estate Newsmaker – Inspirations. Additionally, she served as an At-Large Director for Maryland Realtors from 2019-2020.
Her influence also extends beyond her local area. She is a Certified Coach, Teacher, and Speaker with the John Maxwell Team and was the first African American woman to serve on the National REO Broker’s Association Board from 2013 to 2015. As a presenter at the Five Star Conference from 2011 to 2013, the largest default servicing conference in the U.S., Melanie has further solidified her expertise in the real estate and default servicing industry. She is also the founder of Esther’s Closet, a non-profit organization focused on uplifting young women through annual prom dress giveaways. Her community involvement earned her the 2009 Citizen of the Year award from the Tau Pi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
Melanie has been the Broker/Owner of 212 Degrees Realty, LLC since 2009. She is also a proud member of The Links, Inc. and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., further exemplifying her commitment to service and leadership in both her professional and personal life.
As a cancer survivor, Melanie brings a deep sense of purpose to her work, helping individuals achieve their homeownership dreams. She leads a team of dedicated Realtors® serving Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia. Her commitment to real estate transcends the professional, as she views it as both a passion and a spiritual mission. Beyond her professional career, Melanie is a best-selling author, known for her book Unintended Consequences – The Great Recession’s Impact on Communities of Color and for co-authoring The Big Secret with Jack Canfield. Despite her many achievements, her greatest joy comes from being a mother to her three sons, Julius, Jeremiah, and Jonathan. In her free time, she enjoys reading, shopping, and indulging in spa retreats.
