Get Involved!

While Maryland REALTORS® has a robust Advocacy team working on your behalf, our strength comes from the grassroots support of our members. There are a number of ways to engage on industry issues before state legislators and regulators, read more to learn some of the ways you can join our efforts.

Lobby Day

This FREE annual event is held in Annapolis and offers REALTORS® the opportunity to meet with members of the General Assembly in support of our real estate legislation.

Registration for this event will open in early January. Space is limited, be sure to check Maryland REALTORS® emails and website for updates.

Advocacy Committees

Legislative – This Committee meets every Monday from January to March to review legislation impacting the real estate industry and recommend Maryland REALTORS® positions on those bills.

Public Policy – This Committee, comprised of both brokers and practitioners, meets outside of the General Assembly session to recommend legislation for inclusion in the annual Maryland REALTORS® Advocacy agenda.

Issues Mobilization – This Committee meets throughout the year to consider funding requests from state and local associations to support advocacy campaigns on real estate issues.

Calls for Action

When an issue of particular importance arises, Maryland REALTORS® may call upon members to contact their elected officials directly by email, using prepared talking points. Responding to these Calls for Action helps us to amplify REALTOR® messaging on legislation.

REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC)

Maryland RPAC uses voluntary financial contributions from members to support candidates for office at the federal, state and local levels. You can learn more about how RPAC investments are used on our RPAC page.
